Description of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Associate Director of Development, the Marketing and Development Manager will be responsible for assisting in the execution of CCFCS’s marketing strategies, marketing communications and public relations and fundraising activities. The Marketing and Development Manager will work directly on marketing and communications activities that promote, enhance, and protect the organization's brand reputation and support strategic growth. The key goals for this position are to advance the awareness of the organization's mission and impact in the community among our target audiences and to drive partner and donor support for the organization. This individual will work with CCFCS’s communications products and services including e-newsletters and any print publications, social media, web content and communications, email, media and public relations, and all marketing communications. This individual will work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications and Associate Director of Development on both strategic, long-term initiatives as well as short-term day-to-day activities. Effectively supports ongoing and collaborative communication amongst all program staff and follows trauma-informed language guidelines along with agency brand standards and styles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support internal and external communications, which may include:
    • Creating copy for website, newsletters, weekly updates, program collateral
    • Collaborate with IT staff to create and manage intranet content
    • Proofread/edit various content including annual reports, fundraising appeals, event invitations, website copy
  • Manage social media – monitoring competitors (developing competitive set) develop overarching strategy and an analysis process; research, write, and schedule/post social media messaging with guidance from Marketing and Communications Director, Experience with Hootsuite a plus, but if not, need willingness to learn
    • Comfortable with graphic design – experience with using Canva, Powerpoint or other design tools; willingness to learn
    • Familiar with Photoshop and/or willingness to learn the tool
    • Experience with Google Business accounts
    • Assist with response to media mentions of CCFCS requiring action
    • Support the development and execution of an agency-wide brand identity project.
    • Assist with the creation of a “Brand Book” that will serve as the key reference for all staff; including guidelines, Use of logo, Email signatures, Powerpoint and flyer templates, etc.
    • Interview, write, and coordinate story sharing for both client and staff successes
    • Collaborate with team on all aspects of donor engagement and communications strategy
    • Assist in the development and execution of successful events

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Experience/Personal Qualifications: Minimum of two to five years of progressively responsible experience in marketing and communications. Demonstrated experience in managing communications, media relations, and marketing program to advance an organization's mission and goals. Successful writing and editing experience with a variety of online communications media for external audiences. Project management experience with a process-driven attention for detail. Creative and thoughtful on how new media technologies can be utilized, and how to demonstrate their impact. Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive. Enthusiasm and passion for the Mission of Catholic Charities Family and Community Services.
