Description of Responsibilities: The Little Theatre seeks a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to provide overall Leadership, supervision, and direction on strategic initiatives and operating standards. This individual is responsible for meeting the objectives of the organization's mission and strategic plan in conjunction with the Leadership at the parent organization, WXXI Public Broadcasting, with the support of the Vice President of Development. The Executive Director is responsible for the Leadership, development, and execution of the Little Theatre's fundraising and marketing programs, including strategic planning and goal setting. This position also oversees the operations team, including those responsible for programming, projection, customer service, and events in conjunction with the General Manager. The successful candidate must be a motivated self-starter with the expertise, creativity, and commitment required to launch this historic theatre's next phase and ensure its financial stability.
Responsibilities include:
- The cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors, sponsors and prospects.
- Development of patron-centered strategies and tactics to achieve the theatre's goals of ticket buyer to donor conversion, patron loyalty and exceptional service.
- Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and trustees to enhance development efforts. The Executive Director must be an excellent communicator and be able to manage a team. Above all, The Executive Director must be someone who can inspire the staff, patrons, and local community to support this cultural gem, the longest-operating independent theater in the country.Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute The Little’s annual fundraising plan
- Oversee the database, data entry and processing of individual gifts
- Manage the Government and Foundation grant process
- Prepare and manage appropriate expense budgets.
- Plan and manage marketing efforts such as direct mail and email campaigns for renewals and solicitations as well as events.
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors, soliciting at appropriate times.
- Appropriately thank and recognize individual donors.
- Plan and execute membership cultivation and stewardship events
- Produce timely reports forecasting and analyzing results
- Promote a culture of philanthropy at The Little Theatre
- Represent the Little Theatre at Management and Board Meetings
- Flexibility in work hours required including nights and weekends.

- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum five years professional experience in Fundraising.
- Minimum five years Management experience.
- Experience in budget design, revenue forecasting and business plans.
- Familiarity with database and spreadsheet programs.
- Excellent writing, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Experience/Personal Qualifications:
- Experience with a fundraising CRM database.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously; must have ability to work independently, collaborate with colleagues and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with data migration and database conversion a plus
