Description of Responsibilities:
The Director of Development is responsible for soliciting/securing annual and major gifts through identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift prospects and donors. They will help build a professional development operation and analyze data to delineate the best prospect strategies, with the ultimate goal of closing the gift. For Annual Gifts, this individual will organize and develop a sustaining gifts program, including direct mail, online giving, membership and commemorative gifts and assist in the design and implementation of a Grateful Patient program. They will lead the employee campaign, board giving, and identify new volunteer and financial support opportunities from patients and friends with the goal of expanding the number of major gift donors for UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health. They will look for opportunities to move individuals from prospects to donors, and to upgrade donors to higher levels of engagement and giving over time. They will research, develop, submit and report on grant proposals. This individual will monitor and manage the Foundation's online presence. They will carefully utilize prospect identification software, utilize the Foundation's software and database to track moves, and monitor results and conduct analysis develop effective work plans and increase. They will recruit, support and engage three Auxiliaries in fundraising activities and serve as FLH liaison to Auxiliaries. They must understand the absolute importance of sensitivity in working with the public, showing courtesy and care to all. They must help foster a donor-focused work environment to advance the mission of UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health and the community it serves.

Experience/Personal Qualifications:
We are seeking a self-motivated, positive and resilient fundraising professional to join our team! We value community and are seeking a candidate that shares that passion. Below are the minimum requirements for the position. Minimum: three years of fund-raising experience. Relevant experience includes a track record of developing, implementing, and coordinating annual giving programs; strong knowledge of electronic and conventional membership marketing campaigns; direct experience engaging donor prospects and conducting face-to-face donor solicitations; and a proven track record of closing gifts and other development achievements. The ideal candidate will be proactive, self-directed, highly motivated, and work with energy to accomplish goals. Must demonstrate personal integrity and the ability to inspire confidence and trust.
 
Preferred: Five Years of fundraising experience.
 
Minimum: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, multi-entity health system and with the public. Ability to analyze information to make qualitative, quantitative and cost-effective decisions. Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; ability to work toward goals within deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills, Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets, power point Preferred: Knowledge of the Raiser's Edge database software; Experience with Microsoft Office products including word, excel and power point.
