Tricia says, “Understanding your organization’s donor data and numbers can help identify trends and allow your organization to make data-informed strategic and budgetary decisions.”

Tricia Marsherall is the founder and president of Marsherall Partners, LLC, which just celebrated its third anniversary. A ten-year fundraising veteran, Tricia wanted to make an impact on our community. Through her firm, she has the privilege of partnering with many local nonprofits and playing a small part in helping them serve their mission. For new fundraisers, she shares, “Know your organization’s mission inside and out – if you have the opportunity - shadow your program and services support staff for a day. Know the anecdotal stories that showcase the mission and know the numbers and data that illustrate the impact of those stories.”

For Tricia, the value of an AFP membership lies in the people: “Even in a virtual setting, I’ve been able to make some wonderful connections serving on the board and as the co-chair of National Philanthropy Day. Leverage the network and the collective brainpower of the members of this group. Take full advantage of local, regional and national opportunities.” Her passion for our community is reflected in her thoughts on the I.D.E.A. Committee. Tricia feels, “The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access committee is leading extremely important work in our chapter, and within our community. Creating a community of inclusion by seeking, embracing and engaging diverse individuals, groups and organizations with a broad representation of experiences, perspectives, thoughts and cultures within the fundraising profession is critical to foster cultures that minimize bias, promote innovation and creativity, and reflects the community we serve.”
