Description of Responsibilities: In support of Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York (PPCWNY)’s mission, the Vice President of Development has responsibility for the leadership, strategy, management, and implementation of PPCWNY’s fundraising development plan, including annual campaign, individual major gifts, planned giving, capital campaign, special events, stewardship and donor-relations, foundation grants, corporate sponsorships, and on-line giving in order to meet the goals that are set.

Education: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience/Personal Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of direct experience in the field of development and philanthropy
  • Proven success in securing individual major gifts, demonstrated skills in effective relationship management with high-level supporters
  • Demonstrated track record in managing a program which includes stewardship and donor-relations, foundation grants, capital campaigns, planned giving, corporate sponsorships, grant administration and reporting
  • Experience in oversight of a development operation and facility with policies, procedures, and ethics associated with best practice in fundraising as established by APRA and ADRP.
  • Proven skills in effective volunteer management in support of development activities. This includes identification, engagement, training, stewardship and support to ensure volunteers reach their full potential and achieve fundraising goals.
  • Possess a supportive and accessible leadership and management style, the ability to lead and motivate staff and to encourage change and growth in both people and programs. A demonstrated ability to manage relationships, and proven collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, travel regularly across the region, and travel intermittently beyond the region is essential
