Description of Responsibilities: The Chief Advancement Officer is responsible for all fund development activities, related donor relations, and income generation. This position will report directly to the President and CEO. The CAO oversees day-to-day fund development activities including: major gifts identification and solicitation, foundation and corporate solicitation, and prospect identification and cultivation. The Chief Advancement Officer will plan, implement, and manage long range development programs. The CAO provides leadership and serves as a committed partner in developing the financial resources required to ensure that Hillside’s Mission is fulfilled.

Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.

Experience/Personal Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of fundraising leadership experience and 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proactive development leader with an established track record of increasing philanthropic revenue from diverse constituencies.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of a broad-based fundraising program including personally opening doors, cultivation, and successfully closing major gifts.
  • Progressive experience in successful development programs and knowledge of “best practices” in development.
