Description of Responsibilities: The Executive Director is responsible for creating and executing the foundation’s development strategy, enhancing existing and building new relationships to build visibility, impact and financial resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Uphold the mission of The Arc Foundation of Monroe and align with the agency’s mission and vision.
- Live the core values of the agency and the foundation, centered on furthering the highest level of independence for people with I/DD.
- Develop and implement foundation strategy; oversee/drive all major fundraising initiatives.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy to include major gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants and special events, etc.
- Ensure that grants to The Arc of Monroe fund necessary and/or critical projects
- Develop and execute all proposals; write and archive all proposals with a long-term relationship-management approach.
- Monitor all donor information; provide and present statistical analysis to the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
- Develop and implement a stewardship program aimed at cultivating deeper ties with donors.
- Actively participate in professional fundraising associations and industry groups to stay abreast of new practices and innovations in the development field, employ appropriate best practices
- Monitor and report regularly on the progress of the development program.
- Provide strategy for annual agency and foundation marketing/communications plan, ensuring consistent messaging to grow brand, recruitment, service enrollment and overall awareness in the community.
- Understand the interactions between fundraising, marketing, public relations and social media to elevate The Arc of Monroe and audience engagement.
- Continue to foster and deepen the cooperation amongst the marketing and fundraising staff team members.
- Evaluate staff on an ongoing basis, including annual reviews; identify and implement individual professional development and performance improvement plans.

Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
Experience/Personal Qualifications:
- Five or more years of successful leadership of a foundation or not-for-profit development team; demonstrated success in building and growing a development program. Prior experience with I/DD organization, healthcare a plus.
- Tangible experience of having expanded and cultivated existing donor/constituent relationships over time, culminating in increasing support for the organization.
- Proven experience in creating and delivering dynamic presentations for donors, community organizations, legislators and volunteers.
- Possess traits as a visionary, focused, professional and well-respected leader.
- Be a team player who productively engages with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside the agency.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and donor management software.
