Description of Responsibilities: The Center for Teen Empowerment (TE) employs, trains, and empowers youth, in collaboration with adults, to create peace, equity and justice. Through a unique asset-based youth organizing program implemented in Rochester, NY, and Boston and Somerville, MA, TE hires teens, in the neighborhoods where our sites are located, to identify the most pressing issues in their community and develop a strategy to address those issues. Using TE’s interactive model, the project builds the leadership skills of youth and trains them to do the planning and problem solving necessary to implement strategic plans. Currently Rochester has two neighborhood sites – SW Quadrant and Beechwood/Marketview Heights. TE’s vision is to create multiple neighborhood-based sites throughout Rochester to develop a city-wide presence that is greatly needed.

We are seeking a Fundraising and Communication Manager to raise the funds needed to support our continued growth by researching grants, writing grant proposals, leading fundraising events, and leveraging social media and other platforms. The Rochester Fundraising and Communication Manager will work closely with the Rochester Director and the Rochester-based team, and TE’s Director of Development, to develop and implement a comprehensive local fundraising and communication strategy for TE Rochester.
