Description of Responsibilities: EquiCenter, at the William & Mildred Levine Ranch, is a premier accredited member of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH), and a 501(c)(3) non-profit facility serving those with disabilities, veterans and at-risk youth. Equine-related programs currently offered include adaptive horseback riding, horsemanship, and Heroes for Horses, a program that uses a variety of equine-related therapies to help war veterans and their families. Our riding instructors are internationally-certified and our volunteers and horses have been carefully selected and trained for their vital roles. We are looking to enhance the fundraising and development activity of EquiCenter by adding the position of Development Coordinator to our staff.

Reporting to the Development Officer, this position will be responsible for assisting in the planning and coordination of development communications, administration and fundraising activity including event coordination. This includes annual solicitations, email and marketing communications, social media and daily administrative fundraising activity. The Coordinator assists with all aspects of fundraising, including donor relations, stewardship, annual, major and planned giving.

Essential Functions:

  • Working closely with the Development Officer, Coordinator is responsible for analysis and strategy to grow annual giving revenue through various means including annual appeal(s), event coordination and direct solicitation.
  • Collaborate to develop a strategy for annual communications and solicitations including direct mail and electronic communication with emphasis on the timing, audience segmentation, tailored messaging, signatory and marketing inserts.
  • Assists in the planning and execution of strategic stewardship, cultivation and fundraising events and activities with the goal of attendee retention and philanthropic revenue identification.
  • Contributes relevant information for EquiCenter social media strategy on behalf of programs across the organization to leverage best practices in digital communication and increase awareness of EquiCenter.
  • Support administrative aspects of fundraising to include gift processing, donor data entry (Salsa), acknowledgements, prospect management and event logistics.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by Officer and President/CEO in support of Development activity.

Experience/Personal Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years fundraising experience focused on event planning, volunteer management, communications and strategic fundraising activity.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and time management skills
  • Preferred experience working with donor databases (Salsa strongly preferred)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
