Description of Responsibilities: The Database Manager will be responsible for both the management of all donor fundraising databases (Raiser’s Edge and other fundraising programs) for Heritage Christian Services and Heritage Christian Services Foundation.

  1. Database Management
    1. Serves as subject matter expert for The Raiser’s Edge, The Raiser’s Edge NXT and fundraising software (i.e. RunSignUp, Greater Giving, etc.)
    2. Creates and executes complex database queries, lists and reports as well as imports and exports of data for all fundraising needs including mail files, thank you calls, identifying/tracking major and planned gift prospects, data analysis and financial reports.
    3. Build dashboards, lists and analytics in web-view NXT version.
    4. Manages gift entry, including online gift recording for Online Express, RunSignUp, and any other fundraising platforms.
    5. Creates and reviews standard work for new and existing processes.
    6. Guides staff on best practices and training opportunities.
    7. Develops and maintains efficient systems for ensuring quality control, data integrity, gift processing, prospect research and relationship management.
    8. Develops effective systems to manage data connections, imports and transfers between Raiser’s Edge and other software systems.
    9. Provides input on data entry guidelines and improves processes as needed.
    10. Assists in prospect research through tools such as ResearchPoint and others. Responsible for providing required donor data and ensuring the results are uploaded back in the Raiser’s Edge.
    11. Fosters improved data quality and reporting.
    12. Collaborate with Business Intelligence and Analytics team to share knowledge and improve data analysis.
    13. Works closely with the finance team to reconcile all gifts and correct errors.
  2. Donor and Fundraising Analytics
    1. Understand fundraiser’s goals, projects and obstacles and provide data and analysis as needed.
    2. Proactively identifies and reports on trends in data which will impact fundraising initiatives.
    3. Identifies new major gifts prospects based on analysis of gift history and research data.
    4. Prepares reports and queries upon request for various events, board reports, donor recognition and statistical reporting. Provides support to staff with queries as needed.
    5. Protects and maintains donor confidentiality.
  3. Event Support
    1. Attends major fundraising events and assists as needed with registration, gift entry and event set-up/ breakdown including the HCS Golf Classic and Heritage Hero Run + Stroll + Roll.
  4. Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Personal Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge Enterprise and NXT
  • Proficiency in Excel, working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook required
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex tasks and processes
  • Ability work in a fast-paced office and manage multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of donor relationships; ability to communicate with Board and donors; ability to work within a team
