Three Part Giving

Program Overview
High performing advancement offices have established programs that support leadership annual giving, major gifts, and planned/deferred gifts. This panel will feature veteran fundraisers who will tell stories of success with incorporating these giving strategies. Whether your advancement program is mature and incorporates these giving programs to create a balanced philanthropic revenue stream or if your team is in need of diversifying your program, this panel is for you!

Darrell Bell

Darrell Bell is the Vice President for Advancement in Institutional Advancement at Nazareth College and an Associate at Aspen Leadership Group. Prior to joining Nazareth College and later Aspen Leadership group Bell he served as the vice president for institutional advancement at Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary. He has more than 20 years of experience in advancement roles at several well-known research universities including the University of Rochester, Carnegie Mellon University, and University of Pittsburgh. Bell earned his associate's degree in criminal justice from California University of Pennsylvania, his bachelor's degree in administration of justice at University of Pittsburgh, and his master's degree in strategic leadership at Roberts Wesleyan College.

Bell volunteers with local organizations including The Charles Finney School. He serves on the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District II cabinet. He was selected for a RBJ 40 under 40 award in 2018 and recognized as a 2020 Rochester Chamber of Commerce Ignite Award Finalist. He is most recognized as the head coach of the University of Rochester Advancement softball team which went to finals in the summer of 2013! 

 

Kathy Taylor

With 8 years of Major Gift fund raising at the University of Rochester, Kathy is currently the Director of Gift Planning, in the Office of Trusts, Estates & Planned Giving.  Prior to joining the T&E team, Kathy  was the Associate Director for URMC Academic Programs,  closing major gifts for the schools of Medicine and Dentistry, Eastman Institute for Oral Health, and Nursing.  Kathy began her career as the Associate Director for the James P. Wilmot Cancer Institute advancement team, closing major gifts from grateful patients, faculty and staff. 

 

Chris Scribiani

After a decade-long career in broadcasting, I left radio broadcasting job to serve at the Open Door Mission using my business marketing and sales skills. My job at the Mission is in the areas of fundraising, media, church, corporate and private donor relations. “Although my first ministry is to my family, my commitment to the Mission is to take the organization to higher levels of excellence in Christ!”
