AFP Members-Only — Exploring and Demystifying Donor Advised Funds 

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)are becoming a growing and integral part of philanthropy in the United States, with the number of individuals setting up DAFs and the value of funds continuing to increase. Many professional fundraisers are unclear about how they work and how they could benefit their organizations.

In this introductory session, we offer an overview of DAFs, including key data and trends, a new DAF Donor Relationship Management Cycle, and we explore opportunities and challenges related to DAFs. We close with a discussion of the evolving skill set required for fundraisers in a DAF influenced fundraising landscape. Participants will walk away with essential information to get them started on their fundraising journey with DAFs.
