Peter Lewis Gabak has over 30 years in leadership roles within the non-profit sector w ith a focus on philanthropic relationship management. He has worked for org anizations that serve the arts, human services and higher education in Syra cuse, Rochester and Buffalo.
Gabak is currently a Senior Major Gift O fficer with Union College in Schenectady, NY. Union College was founded in 1795 and is one of the oldest liberal arts college in NYS. Prior to Union C ollege, Gabak was Director of Development at the Buffalo Museum of Science and Director of Major Gifts at Buffalo State College.
Gabak conceptua lized and taught the course, “Fundraising, Grant Writing & Marketing fo r Non-profit Culture” for close to a decade at Rochester Institute of Techn ology. Additionally, Gabak is a classically trained art and architectural h istorian and was a lecturer at RIT from 2008 to 2016.
He is President & Principal of MUSE Consulting – a small boutique consulting firm dedi cated to providing best counsel to small and mid-size organizations that ar e in pre-campaign planning or capital campaign management. Gabak has provid ed counsel to or lead multiple capital and comprehensive campaigns with a c ombined goal of $356MM.
While in Buffalo, Gabak’s community service i nvolved serving on the board of the Museum of disABILITY History, the Roycr ofters-at-Large Association in East Aurora and the Anne Frank Project at Bu ffalo State College.
