How long have you been working in the fundraising profession? 3.5 years

What do you love most about fundraising?
I love connecting with people and educating them on our mission. I enjoy sharing with people how much of an impact we are able to make when we receive donations. I am able to show them that when they get involved and donate to local causes, they are making a direct impact which is incredible!

Why did you decide to join AFPGV?
I wanted to join AFPGV because I want to surround myself with a network of professionals who allow me to draw from their experiences. I want to have a support group of individuals who have the same drive and passion to make the best of themselves in the fundraising world and work to create a better world for all, and AFPGV can provide this for me.

What do you enjoy most about being an AFPGV member?
I enjoy getting to connect with the other members, being a part of certain committees, and attending events where I am able to experience everything that AFPGV has to offer.

Why is Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (I.D.E.A.) important to you and for the work we do every day as fundraising professionals
These are important principles to remember because it allows us to connect as humans without our preconditioned beliefs. Having an I.D.E.A mindset allows us to present an equal level playing field amongst our donors and within our fundraising. We are able to understand and convey that all walks of life are different, but we all share a common end goal.

What is your advice to other AFPGV members?
Get involved and take advantage of the events, committees, and networking opportunities AFP has to offer!
