A series where we will introduce, explore, and unpack the 10 Community-Centric Fundraising principles together. This session will focus on principles 4 & 5. 9:00 am - 9:30 am will be for networking, the presentation will begin at 9:30.

Let's raise up diverse voices, perspectives, and expertise, including race, ethnicity, ability, sexual identity, and gender. We encourage fundraisers from all sizes and types of organizations, development professionals, and the nonprofit community to attend at all levels within the organization.

Presenter: Yversha Roman

Yversha Roman has over twenty years of experience in progressively responsible roles within the not-for-profit sector. Having lead teams and initiatives at non-profits including: United Way of Greater Rochester, Center for Youth Services, Center for Disability Rights, Rochester After School Academy, Action for a Better Community/ Action Front Center and as an Adjunct at Nazareth College, where she graduated from with her B.S. in Social Work. Currently serving as Director of Strategic Partnerships and CASH (Creating, Assets, Savings and Hope) Coalition at Empire Justice Center. As a non-profit professional and community advocate, she also serves the community as the Minority Leader of the Democratic Caucus, Legislator of the 26th Legislative District. 
   

 

Yversha’s continued service to the community has received recognition on numerous occasions, including “Rochester 10” by City Newspaper, Inspiration in Action award by Latino Rotary and 40 under 40 by the Hispanic Institute of New York State and recently as a nominee for the young Athena Award. She has been an active participant on many boards and committees, such as the Advisory Board for the Community Youth Development at Nazareth College and the Healthi Kids Coalition of Common Ground Health. She is the co-founder of Rochester’s Pay Equity Coalition, and Monroe County Language Access Coalition. She lives in Northwest Rochester with her 3-year-old son, Elias, and husband, Eddie
